Ratatouille is a traditional French Provencal stewed vegetables dish, originating from Nice, France.
The full name of the dish is ratatouille nicoise.

Ratatouille is usually served as a side dish, but also may be served as a meal on its own (accompanied by rice or bread).
Tomatoes are a key ingredient, with garlic, onions, zucchini, eggplants, bell peppers, bay leaf, thyme, herbes de Provence and olive oil.

Ratatouille could also be served cold with soft-boiled eggs.
